Plage des Jumeux – St Tropez, France

Where else would you go for beautiful beaches than Pamplonne? Instead of the over touristy Nikki Beach, I went to Plage des Jumeux.

My boyfriend used to go to this restaurant growing up as a child and I was glad that the food was good and fairly priced as well.

The amuse bouche was olive tapenade and toasted baguettes. Yummy!

Unfortunately when I was there in early May, there were no mussels as c’est pas de saison. Dommage. So I took an assorted fish platter and my boyfriend ordered the seabass or loup as it is known in France. The seabass also came with a side of buttered brown rice and ratatouille.

My fish platter had beautiful grill marks but the salmon was a tad dry. The accompanying tomato Provençal was excellent as well.

Dessert was a big surprise at the restaurant. We chose an apple tarte tatin and it was HUGE. The crust was caramelised and crumbly, the fruit was well poached and seasoned. Excellent indeed.

For Pamplonne, this is a place where you get the right quality for what you pay.
