Smokey’s – Singapore

American owned smokehouse and barbecue shack Smokey’s finally opened an outlet in the west side. And I have to say, this place serves some of the best barbecued meats, burgers and buffalo wings I’ve eaten.

St Louis Spare Ribs (1/2 Slab)

The star of the show is definitely the St Louis Spare Ribs. If you’re monstrously hungry, go for their full rack. The meats are smoked in-house at Smokey’s, then coated with their own secret sauce. The meat is so tender and soft that it falls off the bone at the slightest prodding. The chips ain’t half bad either.

I also tried the Smoked Venison Chilli Nachos, Hush Puppies and their “spicy level” buffalo wings. To be honest with you, the “spicy” level for the wings is kinda wuss level for Asians. Go for very spicy and up if you’d like a kick to the tongue.

As for the Hush Puppies, who doesn’t love deep fried cornbread dipped in mayonnaise? But I wouldn’t order this again as it’s nothing but fat on a plate. The Beef Brisket is also good and tender if you like braised meat. If you’re looking for something with more bite, stick to their steaks and burgers.

The seafood and desserts at Smokey’s are nothing to shout about. So I’d say stick to the meats and the Lynchburg Lemonade as well as the Red Dot beers on tap.
