Cafe Gavroche – Singapore
Tanjong Pagar is definitely my favourite area to hang out these days. It’s quiet and full of cafes, bars and restaurants. Great for spending quality time with friends and family. On Tras Street sits the sister cafe of the more expensive Brasserie Gavroche and boy, is their brunch set good.
It kinda looks like a Disneyland version of Paris where everything is clean and the wait-staff are polite. A rarity in Paris. Cafe Gavroche is known for their tartines -open faced sandwiches as well as their cocottes. My boyfriend and I went there for brunch on a Saturday morning and we weren’t disappointed. I had the best Eggs Benedict of my life there, covered in hollandaise sauce, the poached eggs sat atop a slice of bacon and brioche bread. It came with a side of sauteed potatoes as well. Just pure mmm.
We also shared a cocotte of the day which is eggs, cream and smoked salmon (somedays it’s chorizo) Yummy eggy goodness to start the morning. Of course we couldn’t leave without having some dessert. We had petit cremes and a pan of creme brulee. Oh we were omnomnomivores that day.
But the thing that secretly makes me happy is their milk jugs that come with the coffee. Voila!
It’s a cow! I was so amused.
